Spell Casting & Crafts

Spell casting properly is the single most important component in achieving success with your magic spells and rituals. You can never go overboard on an investment of time and energy into the prepartion and execution of your spell. Casting spells "on the fly" almost always leads to failure. Be wise, take the time and care necessary to make your spells successful.

  • First and foremost, especially for beginners, find a quiet location where you will not be distracted or interrupted. Take time to prepare yourself and your spell. Do not hurry. You will be working with one of the most powerful forces in the universe, treat it as such.
  • Remain focused and be specific. Don't be shy about specifying that which you desire. Always keep in mind that magick works best when you are clear regarding your needs or desires. Focus your power. Work on one thing at a time. Casting a spell for multiple wishes never works.
  • Timing is very important. Casting your spell at the proper time will enhance its power. Days of the week and phases of the moon all have specific energies associated with them. By choosing the right time for a spell, you can help to insure its effectiveness.
  • Choose your words carefully. If it is a spell you have written yourself, you have a little leeway, if it is an established spell, practice before you begin, there's a reason it is written that way. Many practitioners, some claiming great experience, fail to heed this admonition, and while they may have some limited success, it remains just that-limited. The words are important. The language in which the spell is written or cast does not matter-it is all in the intention conveyed by the words.
  • Remember the importance of symbols. When casting a spell it is always best to surround yourself with the appropriate objects and tools that will serve to enhance the power of the spell.
  • Be careful. Act responsibly. I'm sure you've heard the old admonition, "Watch what you wish for-you might just get it!" Well, with spell casting you can multiply that admonition many times over. Be very careful what you ask for and how you ask for it-you may get much more than you bargained for!

Magic Spells for Beginners

Spell casting for beginners are a discipline that must be practiced and is often learned best through trial and error. That's why spells for beginners and tools like tarot cards can be invaluable -- as templates and teaching aids. Spells for kids, magic spells designed specifically with the younger child in mind are great for parents who are adept practitioners to use to help their children learn responsibility, kindness, caution, and charity. And just like any other spells for witches, these spells for beginners can garner real results that kids can observe and understand.

Beginner spells for protection can be used by all ages and skill levels to offer security and safety within the spell casting realm. This type of protection is especially important when dealing with black magic for beginners or potions for beginners, two sensitive areas of magic that are usually best left for the more experienced and knowledgeable witches.

On the other hand, Wicca for beginners and numerology for beginners are both areas where the abilities for beginners are far less crucial and the outcomes less fraught with danger.

Overall, we recommend that spells for beginners be easy spells or simple and safe love spells -- spells where the spells basics can be found in a good spells book that is easy to follow and designed for beginners -- those new to the practice of magic.

The number six is the total of three and the numbers that preceed it, 1 & 2. This process of adding numbers together to better understand their significance is a practice much used in ceremonial magic, but seemingly forgotten in the natural magic of Wicca & Paganism. It was, however, part of the Magic of Pagan Europe because the practice of repeating a charm once, then twice, then three times ( a total of 6) is still a part of many old European Spells.
The number six is symbolized by the six-pointed star, among other things.

{+NUMBERS+AND+YOUR+ALTAR+}*"*{+NUMBERS+AND+YOUR+ALTAR+}*
Numbers have been viewed as symbols that hold mystic
significance
since the beginning of time. We love to study them and then
use the
symbols in our daily lives. I am in the process of making a
new altar
for my study room and in deciding what to put on it I came
across the
idea of putting certain things in clusters.
When arranging an altar or the top of a table the number of
items in
your cluster can have a significant feeling and energy to
it. For
instance, placing 2 stones in a group has a much different
feeling
and energy than placing 3 stones. The 3 invokes the Trinity,
whereby
2 would have the energy of yin and yang. Quite a difference
isn't it?
Use the system below in deciding how to arrange your altar
or any
table top in your home. Each number invokes a difference
energy and
feeling.
ONE independence, new beginnings, oneness with life, self-
development, individuality, progress and creativity.
TWO balance of the yin and yang energies (the polarities) of
the
universe; self-surrender, putting others before yourself;
knowledge
comes from the balance of the two opposites.
THREE the Trinity: mind, body and spirit; threefold nature
of
Divinity, expansion, expression, communication, openness and
optimism.FOUR security and foundations; the four elements, the four
sacred
directions; self-discipline through work and service,
wholeness and
unity.
FIVE feeling free, self-emancipating, physical, impulsive,
energetic,
changing; the free soul; adventurous and resourceful.
SIX self-harmony, compassion, love, service, beauty, the
arts,
generosity, concern and caring; relates to children, balance
and
community service.
SEVEN inner life and inner wisdom; a mystical number
symbolizing
wisdom, the seven chakras and the seven heavens a symbol of
birth and
rebirth, sacred vows, the path of solitude, analysis and
contemplation.
EIGHT infinity, material prosperity, self-power, abundance,
authority
and leadership.
NINE humanitarianism, selflessness and dedicating your life
to
others; a symbol of universal compassion, tolerance and
wisdom.
TEN completion as the number of fingers is ten, symbolic of
return to
unity.
ELEVEN intuition, clairvoyance, spiritual healing.
TWELVE 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 months of the year, 12
hours of the
day and night, 12 Knights of the Round Table, 12 disciples;
balance
of spiritual realm and earthly realm.
TWENTY -TWO unlimited potential for mastery in any area, not
only
spiritual but physical, emotional and mental as well.
THIRTY-THREE ancient mysteries; all things are possible

Money Cup Spell

Money Cup - A wealth spell that Karanina claimed to have run across while vacationing one year in Austria. She always said this was the best spell she'd ever found for accumulating wealth.

You will need:

An earthenware cup
A small coin
A beeswax candleis spell is begun on the morning of a coming full moon.

At sunrise, place the coin outside where it will be exposed to the rise of the sun and will remain in the light of the sun for the entire day. Do not move the coin once it has been placed in a suitable spot.

At dusk, flip the coin over and leave it alone while the full moon rises. Do not move the coin.

At midnight, begin the spell.

Light the candle.

Get the coin.

Place the cup in front of you.

Drip some wax in the bottom of the cup and repeat these words aloud while doing so:

By the power of the sun and the moon
Has this coin been imbued with the draw
To itself may its like attract
As it goes, may it triple back

Place the coin in the warm wax in the bottom of the cup. Seal the coin over with more wax from the candle.

Extinguish the candle.

Keep the cup in a safe but open space.

Bottle of Love

In order to attract love towards you and preserve it.

What you'll need:

-1 pink glass bottle or pot
-flowers and petals of fresh or dried flowers
-grasses (mint, rosemary, thyme, bark of orange) dried or fresh
-honey (approximately 1/4 of cup)
-white alcohol (approximately 1 cup of Vodka, Gin or Rum)
-water, sufficient to finish filling the bottle
-pink wax

Ritual:

Fill your bottle with the flowers and grasses, and while adding them, concentrate on love, its pleasures and all the people you like. Pay careful attention to keeping your thoughts on the pleasures and the joy of love because these are, to some extent the thoughts you will be placing in the bottle.
Mix the alcohol and honey before pouring the whole on the grasses and flowers.
Next, fill the bottle with water and seal it with pink wax carefully.
Take the bottle in your hands and speak aloud the following:

I filled my bottle with thoughts of love and affection. They are there now for always and they will attract towards me love and feelings soft so that I am always loved.

When you sense ill feelings from others, go to your bottle and agitate it gently. This will re-activate the enchantment.

House Protection Spell Bottle

Since the earliest spell bottles were created for protection, it seems fitting to begin with one made for this purpose.  Ideally, such a bottle will be walked up in a new home under contruction, or placed under the floorboards.  If this is impossible, simply place it in a position of importance somewhere in the home.

Items needed:  1 glass jar with cork stopper or lid(a small canning jar is fine), 1/2 to 1 cup salt(depending on size of jar), 3 cloves garlic, 9 bay leaves, 7 tbsp. dried basil, 4 tbsp. dill seeds, 1 tbsp sage, 1 tbsp anise, 1 tbsp black pepper, 1 tbsp fennel, 1 bowl

In the morning, ideally on a bright and sunny day assemble all items.  Place the salt into the bowl and say:

Salt that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add the cloves of garlic to the bowl and say:

Garlic that protects, protecty my home and all within it.

Crumble the bay leaves, place in the bowl and say:

Bay that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add the Basil and say:

Basil that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add sage and say:

Sage that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add the anise and say:

Anise that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add pepper and say:

Pepper that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Add the Fennel and say:

Fennel that protects, protect my home and all within it.

Mix together the herbs and the salt with your hands.  Through the movement of your hands and fingers, lend energy to the potent protective items.  Visualize your home as a shining, safe, guarded, secure place of sanctuary.  Pour the mixture into the jar.  Seal tightly and place in your home with the following words:

Salt and herbs, nine times nine

Guard now this home of mine.

It is done.

Making A Money Pentacle

Pentagrams have been used in magic throughout history.  The pentagram's shap may have derived from the hand.  This could account for its continued magical use for protection(hands are used to guard ourselves), as well as money(we earn our living with our hands).

The pentagram is an interlaced five-pointed star Aside from its hand symbolism, it also represents the human body; the top point the head, the left and right middle points the arms, the bottom two the legs.  Pentagrams were found amoung the ruins of Pompeli.  It was in use even earlier, for a pot fount at Tell Asmar(Jemdet Nasr period, cirra 2750 B.C.E.) in Mesopotamia bears a painted pentagram.  This figure is so steeped in magic, symbolism, and religion that of necessity thes few words will have to suffice. (The pentagram isn't in any way connected with the Christian summation of evil.)

A penticle(the term stems from ceremonial magic) is any round object decorated with a pentagram.  This project utilizes the money-attracting properties of the pentagram.  -Scott Cunninghan&David Harrington-

Items needed:

Clay, Tracing paper, pencil or pen, Inscribing tool

Break or cut off a tennis ball-size piece of clay.  Knead and roll it between the hands to form a ball.  While doing this, visualize money coming into your life.  On a piece of waxed paper, flatten the ball into a 1/4-inch thick circle.  Smooth the surface.

Transfer the diagram shown here to a piece of tracing paper.  Lay it over the flat clay.  If your clay disk is to large, roll it into a ball and flatten it again, adjusting it so that it is the correct width.

Using the tooth a toothpick or awl, poke a hole into the clay at each of the five outer points of the "star."  Use these as guides when inscribing the pentagram onto the clay.

Remove the tracing paper.  With your inscribing tool, draw a line across the surface of the clay from head to left hand, saying

Money will come to me

Saying these words each time, repeat from Left hand to right shoulder, and right shoulder to left shoulder, and left shoulder to right hand hand then back to head.  You've just drawn a pentagram.

If the pentagram doesn't seem balanced, smooth over the surface of the clay, use the tracing paper to give you the starting points and try again.

When you're satisfied with the pentagram, let the pentacle dry on the waxed paper undisturbed for 3 days.  After the pentacle has dried, set it on a window sill near the front door or some other place in the home where it can remain undisturbed for a long period of time.  As you place the pentacle, say these or similar words while visualizing(which should be repeated at regular intervals)

Pentalpha, Pentangel,

It's money I need;

Pentacle, Pentagram,

This is the seed!

UNWANTED HABIT SPELL

UNWANTED HABIT SPELL

To eliminate an unwanted habit, make a poppet of yourself out of cloth, straw, or a carved candle.
Make symbols or words on it to indicate what you want to release forever, allowing anger to build
within you that you have practiced this unwanted behavior. Call upon Pluto or Hecate to assist
your resolve to fully carry out change in you life.
Then, using a safe container such as an iron cauldron or metal bowl, anoint the poppet with a
few drops of oil of myrrh, pennyroyal, rosemary, or rue, and then carefully set it on fire, visualizing
the release of your unwanted habit or trait forever.
Burn the poppet to ashes, and then take the ashes to a place where you have no need to
be at any time soon. Bury it, turn firmly, and walk away. Don't look Back.
